As far as gameplay, there are several different characters to pick from, and they all play differently, adding that bit of replay value to the levels and modes. The extra outfits are accurate with the arcs, and you can change back and forth freely which is a neat little bonus.
The original story of the manga is told pretty well, better than the new animes from 20. These are basically short dialogue sequences of some of the characters talking to each other, some scenarios that weren't explored in the manga, and they help immerse you further in the world. In addition to the cutscenes, there are "Events". The cutscenes from the movie help visualize and get across some of the more important scenes the game engine just can't handle. If you're a new fan of the franchise and wanted to get into the world of Berserk, this is a decent choice. Running around as Guts and scoring hundreds of kills will be enjoyable, despite the flaws which are definitely there.
